Plai recommends
Esma, a Gipsy from the city of Skopje, as she calls herself, raised by the late Stevo Teodosievski, traveling through the world and broadening the acquaintance of Macedonia and Skopje, recently celebrated 40 years of undeniably prolific work. Considering the acknowledgments she received, she is, indeed, one of the most successful performers of all times. Further more, going deeper into her intimate, private life, we become aware that she may very well be our second Mother Teresa.
Not having the luck of being a natural mother, Esma brought up 5 children in her own house, and other 47 are proud to say that she is both their mother and father. So, giving concerts around the world, she raises money for these children, educating them and above all, providing them with a blissful and normal life.
It is beyond doubts, that she is a completely civil and intellectually orientated person.
Esma Redzepova performed at PLAI on the 11th of September 2009, together with the Teodosievski Ensemble and we enjoyed every minute of it.
