Most people see Cărtureşti as a bookstore. We argue that if “paradise is a bookstore” (as Borges once said), only then Cărtureşti can be called “a bookstore”. Given the complex nature of the concept behind it, Cărtureşti is more a chain of cultural stores in which you can find books, tea, music, art exhibitions and, often, some of your favorite writers or artists in the flesh.
