Plai recommends
In the spirit of multiculturality, PLAI Festival, in 2007, brought, for the first time in Romania, “the voice of Tibet”: Yungchen Lhamo. Since she arrived on foot from Tibet in Dharamsala, Dalai Lama’s residence, Yungchen Lhamo has become the most important Tibetan singer who performs on stages around the world. The name of Yungchen was given by the Dalai Lama himself, and the translation of this name is “goddess of music and singing.” From the Sydney Opera House to the spotlights of Carnegie Hall, the a cappella singing of the Tibetan vocalist have delighted audiences in over 70 countries.
